German competition authorities approved acquisition of specialized packaging plant Schilling
The German antitrust authorities have approved the acquisition of the packaging plant Schilling GmbH & Co KG in Heilbronn by Mayr-Melnhof Packaging. This resulted in the purchase becoming effective as of December 4, 2001. The facility specializes in the plastic coating of cartonboard as well as in micro-flute products and primarily manufactures packaging for multinational detergent producers. The company employs about 150 people and registered sales of approximately EUR 23 million in the previous financial year.
